crannied wall

"O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the crannies of the cliff,
let me see your face,
let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely." Song of Songs 2:14

flower in a crannied wall, i pluck you out of the crannies
i hold you here, root and all, in my hand
little flower but if i could understand
what you are, root and all, and all in all,
i would know what God and man is. -Alfred Lord Tennyson
